  10. Can the city and/or tenants come after me legally after my properties get sold at a sheriff sale?

    July 5, 2010, 9:20 am
I have 14 apartments in Luzerne County PA. After these properties get sold at a sheriff sale on Oct 5, (I imagine the lender will buy it and try selling it themselves, paying what is still owed plus all the penalties/fees/etc) will the city or tenants be able to sue me for lack of upkeep or utilities not getting paid, or any other problems that should occur? The assumption I'm under is that being I will no longer have any legal interest in the properties, anything that should happen is on the lender at that point. It's in a bad neighborhood so I am also scared of anything involving police matters and want to make sure I am off the hook with everything except any deficiency judgement the lender can come after me for.
